The Lindenwood University Department of Theatre will open its 2006-2007 Mainstage Season on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Jelkyl Theatre with “American Rosies: Women at Work in WWII,” written and directed by MFA candidate L. Patton Chiles, former artistic director of Historyonics Theatre Company.

The Daniel Boone Home in Defiance, Mo., will hold its annual Pioneer Days “living history” event from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 1, offering historical reenactments, music, food, vendors, and a variety of other attractions on the site of the historic Daniel Boone Home. Admission to the event is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (55 and older), and $6 for children (age 4-11).

Students who thought they had missed out on the fall semester at Lindenwood University can still take part thanks to a large selection of late start classes that begin the weeks of Sept. 25, Oct. 2, Oct. 9 or Oct. 23.

Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, family, friends and community leaders remembered Dennis Spellmann Friday during a memorial service at Lindenwood's Performance Arena.

James D. Evans, Ph.D., has been named the acting president of Lindenwood University following the death of Dennis C. Spellmann, who had headed the University since 1989. The announcement was made today by Jim Shoemake, Chairman of the Lindenwood University Board of Directors.

Changes at Lindenwood have been evident all across the sprawling 500-acre campus. Chief among those changes is a series of six new residence halls where a mobile home park once stood. On August 18, the last of those six halls was dedicated.

Lindenwood University has signed an agreement with the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy opening the door for criminal justice students to attend the academy as part of their coursework.
