Lindenwood University and the University of Missouri-Rolla have signed an agreement that will let local students start their engineering degree in St. Charles.
Under the agreement, both institutions express a shared commitment to increased opportunity for access to higher education. The agreement provides students the chance to begin coursework at LU and complete their degree at UMR.
"Dozens of young people will benefit from this arrangement," said Lindenwood President Dennis Spellmann, who signed the agreement Wednesday with UMR Chancellor Gary Thomas.
Spellmann and Thomas had been working on the agreement for more than a year. It clarifies transfer credit situations and provides model outreach programs for students.
Lindenwood has similar agreements in place with UM-Columbia, UM-St. Louis and Washington University.
