Missouri’s fastest-growing college or university is bringing its programs to one of the fastest-growing areas in the state.
Lindenwood University is offering its popular graduate MBA and an undergraduate business certificate in southwest Missouri at the Taney County Ambulance District Educational Facility. Classes start Sept. 29.
The facility is already equipped with high-quality technology and a “smart” classroom, and is a “perfect environment” for Lindenwood’s quality accelerated programs, said Chris Essick, director of Lindenwood’s Branson-Hollister Campus.
“Lindenwood’s top-notch reputation is widely known across the state,” said Essick. “This is really an excellent match for the higher education needs in this community.”
Essick said Lindenwood has grants and financial aid available for those who qualify.
“There is a need in this area for such a program,” Essick said. “And Lindenwood’s format—one night a week—is perfect for the adults who are juggling family and work responsibilities but recognize they have to get an MBA or improve their academic credentials.”
Essick said the MBA will take students about 15 months to complete and will require courses or “clusters” in marketing, accounting, finance, management and human resource management. He said the undergraduate business administration certificate will require courses in communications and some of the areas listed above.
Lindenwood University was a pioneer in the adult accelerated higher education in the 1970s when it introduced the customized format tailored to adult learning needs. The quality has been so appealing that Lindenwood has successful programs operating at several sites around Missouri and Illinois.
“We are very excited about bringing Lindenwood to southwest Missouri,” said Lindenwood University President James D. Evans. “I am confident our students in the area will see the value in a Lindenwood degree and it will help them in this very competitive world.”
