Lindenwood University to begin Discipleship Institute

The Center for Christian Ministry Studies at Lindenwood University is starting a Discipleship Institute to bring CCMS courses into local churches. Classes begin Jan. 24.

CMS Director Rev. Steve House said church laity and leadership may take courses toward a certificate in theology, youth ministry, discipleship training, missions and social justice and worship ministry. Students earn their certificate by completing five courses in their chosen concentration.

Classes meet one weekday evening for 15 weeks. Cost for a three-hour course is $300. Books are extra.

Participating churches include Faith United Methodist, First Baptist Church of Harvester and New Spirit Community United Methodist Church in Webster Groves. CCMS is a trans-denominational undergraduate ministry training center at Lindenwood. For information, call Rev. House at 636-949-4889.
