Lindenwood University’s School of Arts, Media, and Communications and the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts announce William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, presented by the Theatre Program at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3-5 in the Scheidegger Center’s Lindenwood Theater.
Audiences are invited to relive one of English theatre’s darkest hours in William Shakespeare’s chilling masterpiece. A stalwart warrior’s fate is cornered between the maddening desire for power and what he must do to keep what he has taken. He has no choice but to fall into the hands of the sinister and supernatural to hold himself intact. A classic that has withstood the test of time, Macbeth dares its audience to question not only the value of human life, but the value of humanity itself.
Written by one of the Western world’s greatest playwrights, the play blends history and fantasy into an unforgiving world of temptation, loss, and vengeance, where nothing is what it seems, and all things unravel into a sleepless hysteria that will drive even the greatest to the edge.
