Lindenwood University and Title IX Coordinator Kelly Moyich recently played host to a quarterly gathering of Title IX professionals from throughout the region. The group, which also included numerous Lindenwood personnel from Human Resources, Student Development, and other departments, met in the Hyland Arena’s VIP Room.
Moyich said Haley Hanson, a partner at the legal firm of Husch Blackwell with 15 years’ experience in higher education law, spoke about reciprocal complaints and added some insights on upcoming new federal regulations. Additionally, the group received insight on the criminal justice process from Mary Pat Carl, also a partner at Husch Blackwell with 15 years of experience as a prosecutor.
“The meetings are one way to ensure that Lindenwood’s policies and procedures as they relate to Title IX are up to date and compliant,” Moyich said. “Also, they provide a place for members to share ideas on ways that coordinators are bringing sexual assault awareness and education to their campuses.”
