The Lindenwood University School of Communications will host a professional media workshop from 6-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the university Cultural Center. Emmy Award-winning director and actor Bobby Miller and St. Louis-based casting director Joni Tackette will discuss the secret language actors share on-set, how to direct a scene, and more.
Miller has worked for more than 30 years as an actor, director, writer, and producer of films, television, radio, and theatre projects. He is a four-time Emmy Award winner and a 2008 Kevin Kline Award recipient. He is currently nominated for two 2010 Kevin Kline Awards in the categories of best director and best sound designer for his work on the theatrical production Brooklyn Boy.
Tackette is 1998 graduate of Lindenwood University who has achieved much success during her career as a casting director. She has worked on the HBO miniseries John Adams, as well as films such as Hanna Montana: The Movie, The Replacements, Meet Bill, Mr. 3000, and Glory Road. Most recently, she worked as the St. Louis location casting director for the critically acclaimed feature film Up in the Air.
