Internships are known for giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real world environments. At the same time, they will also develop skills which will help them perform better at their jobs as they become leaders within the nonprofit sector.

As a result, internships are an essential part of the curriculum of the Nonprofit Administration degree program and placements are to be coordinated in advance with program faculty to ensure that they reinforce the core competencies that guide program curriculum: governance, planning, fund development, finance/legal, evaluation, and communication.

Recent internships include placements in such organizations as The Mission Continues, Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Charles County, YMCA, O'Fallon, Camp Wyman, Make a Wish Foundation, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, and the Humane Society of St. Charles County, to name just a few.
