The Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders K-12 program at Lindenwood University is designed to prepare certified teachers and other certified school personnel such as school counselors, speech/language pathologists, and occupational therapists to effectively understand, teach, and work with students within the autism spectrum.
This program highlights the various spectrums of autism and best practices, which include assessments, programming, positive behavioral supports, communication and language skills, and current research. There is a growing public demand for professionals who understand the issues and needs of individuals affected with ASD, and upon the completion of this master’s program, you will be able to apply your knowledge when planning, coordinating, and implementing programs for ASD students.
The program does not offer teacher certification from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
