For each of the three degree programs offered under Computer Science, there are four Program Learning Outcomes that all graduates with a degree from Lindenwood University in those programs are expected to achieve.  Each Program Learning Outcome has metrics by which the outcome can be measured for each student.


Program Learning Outcomes for Computer Science Degree Programs

  • B.S. in Computer Science
  • B.A. in Computer Science

 

PLO 1:  Graduates demonstrate an ability to develop quality computer software

Metric 1:  Graduates demonstrate extensive programming ability in at least two programming languages

Metric 2:  Graduates demonstrate an ability to apply software engineering principles in the development of computer software

Metric 3:  Graduates demonstrate an ability to develop and analyze algorithms

Metric 4:  Graduates demonstrate an ability to design and implement appropriate user interfaces

 

PLO 2:  Graduates are able to evaluate the functional relationship between operational components of computer systems

Metric 1:  Graduates have extensive knowledge of operating systems concepts and their functional implementation

Metric 2:  Graduates have extensive knowledge of the architecture and organization of computer systems

 

PLO 3:  Graduates will exhibit professional conduct and behavior consistent with contemporary professional standards

Metric 1:  Graduates exhibit good oral communications skills

Metric 2:  Graduates exhibit good written communications skills

Metric 3:  Graduates exhibit ethical codes of conduct

 

PLO 4:  Graduates are able to identify the interrelationship between computer science and other disciplines
