Justice & The Constitution

Justice & the Constitution is a unique course that explores the United States Constitution and its relationship with our current judicial system.  The course examines the Constitution and Bill of Rights from the perspective of the application of those rights in criminal and civil cases.  Students discuss the application of the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments as they relate to a current criminal or civil case, and the Supreme Court cases that shape current decisions.

Students experience hands-on activities, guest speakers, and lectures that are focused on the application of the amendments and the career-fields that are impacted by their application.  Students may participate in a variety of roles as part of this course:

    - Police Officer                         - Reporter
