IRB Training, Consultation, and Office Hours

Education Policy

All researchers conducting research involving human subjects are required to complete the following training:

  • National Institutes for Health (NIH) - Protecting Human Research Participants (PHRP)
  • The IRB will accept alternative training, such as that provided by Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)

The IRB requires all clinical researchers and research team members to have also completed Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training. This training must cover International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) 6 guidelines. It must be completed every three years. Options for completing this training include:

  • National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NAIAD) - GCP Training
  • In-person training provided by the Lindenwood University IRB Office

Training And Consultation

The IRB Office makes the following training and consultation available upon request. Please contact us to schedule a time to talk.

  • IRBNet Training - Hands on training in the IRBNet application system
  • IRB Member Training - Training for members new to the Lindenwood University Institutional Review Boards
  • Research Administration Training - Practical, protocol-specific training in research design, implementation, data management, and best practices for compliance

  • Research Design Consultation - Consultation and problem-solving in research design and regulatory application
  • Regulatory Management Consultation - Training and consultation in federal regulatory compliance
  • Study Conduct Consultation - Consultation and problem-solving in single or multi-site protocol implementation
  • Single IRB (SIRB) Consultation - Consultation on SIRB requests and requirements

Office Hours

Lindenwood IRB offers open Office Hours on a regular basis for questions you may have about potential research projects, current IRB applications, or submitting studies in IRBNet. No appointment is necessary. If these times are not convenient, please contact the IRB Director to set up a time to chat.

  • St. Charles Campus Office Hours

Tuesdays 9-12, Memorial Arts Building 102

Consultation is also available by appointment by phone, virtual conference, or in person for students, staff, and faculty not able to attend during this time. Please contact the IRB Director to schedule an appointment.
