Admissions Process

The admissions process is a simple one, but one that must occur in the following order.

I. Apply
A. This includes payment of Application Fee ($100). Without this fee, Immigration and admission documents will not be sent out.
B. Please include all required documents.

II. Admission Granted or Denied
A. If you are accepted, you will receive an email with a scholarship proposal.

III. Presentation of Scholarship and Work Study Award
A. This comes in the form of an email. To accept, please reply to the email and say "I accept this scholarship proposal."

IV. Immigration, admission, and other documents sent to student.
A. Once you have accepted the proposed scholarship, a package containing your immigration paperwork (I-20, I-901 information, ect.), admission documents (admission letter and scholarship award), and other informative document will be shipped through UPS to the address on your application. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE ADDRESS ON YOUR APPLICATION IS CORRECT. ALSO, MAKE SURE THAT THE PHONE NUMBER ON THE APPLICATION IS CORRECT!
B. IF your application fee has not been paid, this package will not be sent. There are no exceptions to this rule!

V. At this point, you must make your appointment to gain your visa. Consult www.uscis.gov for more information.

VI. Alert the International Office of your visa status.
A. Please keep the International Office updated on the status of your visa. If you are denied, please let us know. As soon as your visa is granted, please send an email to our office. Housing assignments will not be secured until we know your visa is granted.

VII. Make Travel Arrangements.
A. Please secure your travel dates and inform the International Office.
B. Try to arrive at Lindenwood on the suggested dates listed on the website under the "New Students" page of the International section of the Lindenwood University website.

VIII. Arrive at Lindenwood University
A. Check in with the International Office.
B. Meet with your advisor.
C. Start Classes!


Important Deadlines:
Admission for the undergraduate Fall Semester is June 1st.
Visa Deadline July 26th.

Application Deadline for Undergraduate Spring Semester is October 1st.
Visa Deadline December 20th.

Application Deadline for Undergraduate F-1 transfer students already in the United States is July 1st for the fall and December 20th for the spring.

If you do not have your visa by this date, the university cannot guarantee housing. You will not be placed in housing or be scheduled for classes until you have received your visa and the International Student Center has been notified. It is your responsibility to contact the International Student Center.
