The Butler Society is comprised of a select group of alumni and friends who have promoted the growth of Lindenwood University through significant charitable gifts. Membership is determined through lifetime giving levels beginning at $25,000.
The Butler Society is named in honor of Colonel James and Margaret Leggat Butler, whose philanthropic spirit led to the construction of nearly half the major buildings on campus. The Butlers' total contributions to Lindenwood would equal more than $25 million in today's dollars.
Butler Society members are annually invited to a special recognition dinner in the fall. Lindenwood honors members with a beautiful keepsake and showcases exceptional student talent.
