Interpretation
   
The School of American Studies offers a Master's Degree in Interpretation. This degree can be obtained with an emphasis in American Studies, History or other academic focus. Interpretation is the communications process used at cultural resource sites to forge emotional and intellectual bonds between visitors and the meanings inherent in the resource. Students that carry a current certification in a professional category with the National Association for Interpretation may take a proficiency exam for each of their certification categories for up to 12 hours of credit.
