The Recreation Leadership program is committed to preparing students for rewarding positions in the exciting and growing fields of parks, recreation and leisure. Recreation professionals are responsible for promoting healthy lifestyles by ensuring the availability of future parks, resources, and recreation and leisure opportunities.
The Recreation Leadership program combines traditional courses with experiential learning opportunities focusing on real-life situations that challenge students to plan, organize, and facilitate challenging and rewarding leisure service programs. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed for positions of leadership in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors; commercial, municipal/government or military organizations, youth agencies, county, state, and national parks, and/or religious and educational institutions.
