Fashion reflects the political mood, economic conditions, technical achievements, aesthetic standards, and social milieu of a given culture. The Lindenwood University Fashion Department prepares students to succeed in this rich, cultural environment.
In the Fashion Design program, coursework incorporates design, sewing, fashion illustrating, flat patternmaking and draping, computer-aided design, garment construction and fit, industry software knowledge, and conceptual and critical thinking.
Students will build their digital and traditional portfolios with design projects from courses using industry-standard design applications. Students are taught traditional and computer-generated design as they develop their own sense of design and style. Lindenwood’s Fashion Design program combines creativity and technical expertise to prepare tomorrow’s design professionals.
Fashion designers work in apparel companies, retailers, theater or dance companies, and design firms—the opportunities are truly endless.
