Scott Lyle

Instructor - Class Guitar

Scott Lyle received an undergraduate degree in Music Performance (guitar) summa cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a graduate degree in Music Composition from Washington University in Saint Louis.

He began giving guitar instruction in 1985, and has taught in the St. Louis area at many private studios. Scott has also performed extensively with various ensembles since the 1980’s. He has done a considerable amount of recording/studio work including sessions for Stages St. Louis and other area organizations. In his spare time, he continues to compose music and has recently scored music for a ballet, written a lied for string quartet and soprano, a suite for woodwind trio, a handful of short orchestral works, and a requiem. He enjoys performing music of all eras and harbors a particular penchant for the avant garde and post-tonal contemporary milieu.
