In its inaugural season of play at Lindenwood Belleville, the Lynx golf team has made history for the university. After two days of outstanding play, the team has become the first Lindenwood University – Belleville squad to place at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national tournament by taking second earlier this afternoon.

"Inspecting Carol," an uproarious backstage farce that combines Gogol's giddy romp "The Inspector General" with a masterful spoof of Dickens' seasonal perennial "A Christmas Carol," will be the holiday offering of the Brass Rail Players at Lindenwood community theater group.

Lindenwood University–Belleville will host eight performances by The Brass Rail Players community theatre group of the comedy thriller “Deathtrap” Nov. 4-7 and Nov. 11-14. Auditions for the show are open to the public and will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, and Monday, Sept. 20, in the university’s auditorium.

Dr. Keith Russell has been named chair of the English Department at Lindenwood University-Belleville; he previously served as an associate professor of English at the university’s St. Charles, Mo., campus.

Sarah Patterson-Mills, licensed professional counselor and secondary school counselor, has joined Lindenwood University-Belleville’s School Counseling Department as a full-time professor.

Dr. Therese Chavaux Turnbull has joined the faculty at Lindenwood University-Belleville and will assist in the further development of the university’s Professional and School Counseling Department.

Lindenwood University–Belleville will host two guest speakers during August. The presentations are part of the school’s 2010 Speaker Series and are free and open to the public. They also fulfill colloquium requirements for current LCIE students.

Dr. Rahim Karimpour has been appointed chair of Lindenwood University-Belleville’s Department of Mathematics, effective Aug. 1. His duties will include hiring mathematics faculty, overseeing student assessment testing and advising processes, and contributing to the overall growth of the University’s traditional day program.

Dr. Paige Mettler-Cherry has been named dean of academics at Lindenwood University-Belleville; she previously served as an associate professor of biology and chair of the Biology Department at Lindenwood's St. Charles, Mo., campus.
