Emmanuel Forbes is a familiar face to students and staff members at Lindenwood University-Belleville, where he’s known simply as “Manny.” He stood in the Alice E. Ackermann Welcome Center, dutifully attending a ceremony to announce the winner of the 2017 campus employee of the year award. Forbes never suspected that the honor was going to be presented to him.

Students attending the seventh-annual edition of Camp Lynx Tales at Lindenwood University-Belleville not only learned a lot about reading and writing. They learned a lot of what it takes to make a good superhero, too.

The Lindenwood University-Belleville Athletic Department and Athletic Director Ryan Kaiser are pleased to announce Alex Ilchenko as the lynx men and women’s swim coach. “Alex Ilchenko is a rising star in the swimming world,” said Kaiser. “He will identify with our student-athletes as he has the ability to connect on such a diverse level. He’s the makeup of our team.”

Belleville, Ill. – The Lindenwood University-Belleville athletic department announces the discontinuation of the campus bowling program on the Belleville campus, starting with the fall 2017 semester. The bowling program at the sister campus in St. Charles. Mo. is unaffected by this decision.

The Division of Education and Counseling at Lindenwood University-Belleville again will host Camp Lynx Tales June 5-23, from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The Illinois State Board of Education’s State Educator Preparation and Licensure Board has officially recognized Lindenwood University-Belleville as a state institution and educational unit, streamlining the process for future graduates of the institution to obtain teacher and school counseling licensure in the state of Illinois.

Thirteen Lindenwood University-Belleville counseling students have been inducted into the Lambda Chi Chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society for professional counselors and counselor educators and counseling students.
