Students who have a passion for acting, playing an instrument, singing, or creating works of art will have an opportunity to meet with Lindenwood University-Belleville leaders for an audition.
On Saturday, Feb. 24, the university will hold a Fine and Performing Arts Day open house at its 2600 W. Main St. campus.
“We are hosting the fine and performing arts event for the first time this year,” said Reeta Piirala-Skoglund, dean of admissions at Lindenwood Belleville. “It’s a great opportunity for students that are interested in various forms of music and art to come in, learn about our extracurricular programs, and audition or display their portfolios for scholarship opportunities.”
At the event, students will be able to learn about Lindenwood’s extracurricular music and art programs then audition or display their portfolios for an opportunity to earn a scholarship.
- Come meet with directors and faculty
- Speak with current students about their experiences

The event check-in starts at 8 a.m. with the welcome session at 9 a.m. The day will end with a free lunch on campus.
“We pride ourselves with offering a wide array of art options for students to participate in and continue their interests while completing their degrees in our academic programs in biology, criminal justice, and business, to name a few,” Piirala-Skoglund said. “We hope that both high school and transfer students join us to learn more about what we have to offer!”
