Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

The faculty members of the Division of Natural Science and Mathematics at Lindenwood University-Belleville seek to explore how we prepare students to make an impact on their society. Students in this Division have an opportunity to prepare for a number of exciting careers such as nursing, medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.

The Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics offers a bachelor of science in Biology. Biology majors are presented with an integrated concept of life as manifested in animals and plants. Although the Division does not offer majors in nursing, chemistry or mathematics, it participates in collaborative programs with other institutions in pre-nursing such as Barnes Jewish Hospital. Upon completion of pre-nursing requirements, students could be admitted to the RN program at Barnes Jewish Nursing School.

We invite you to join us on our academic journey to broaden your horizons and to nurture the spirit through experiences that broaden our intellectual, organizational and social perspectives.

Our Division in Belleville is a separate campus and offers opportunities for specialization in biology and minors in biology, pre-professional studies in health sciences, pre-medicine, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, pre-veterinary medicine, and pre-nursing.

We distinguish our Division from our competitors through:

Credentialed faculty. We recruit professors who bring both academic and professional achievement to the classroom. As a result, all of our full-time faculty members have a doctoral degree in specialty fields.

Extensive faculty-student interaction. We think the effectiveness of education is directly dependent on the quantity and quality of time our students spend with their professors. For that reason all of our classes are small to promote active student participation and all student advising is handled by full-time professors.

Early student contact with the business world. We want our students to develop meaningful contacts with the business leaders of the world before they graduate. We bring guest speakers to our classrooms and provide internship and mentorship opportunities.
