Criminal Justice Internships

The Criminal Justice Internship course at Lindenwood University – Belleville offers students real world experience.  Students are encouraged to take this course because it gives them the opportunity to work in the Criminal Justice field and make connections that could possibly lead to employment.  To enroll in Criminal Justice Internship, students must have a Junior or Senior academic standing.

You must see your academic advisor to enroll in the course.  After enrolling in the course, it is up to the student to obtain his/her internship placement.  There is form with a list of partners outside of Judge Eckert’s (ret.) office, Room M312, if you need help determining where you would like to do your internship.  Please feel free to pick the form up along with the syllabus so that you will know what the requirements are for the course.  You may contact Judge Eckert at (618) 239-6166 or by email at aeckert@lindenwood.edu for further information.

Recent graduates and internship students said the following:

“The internship program at LU-Belleville has allowed me to make several networking connections I would have never made without entering this program.  I interned at a local law firm and I am now a paid part-time employee at the firm.  My experience at LU-Belleville has further prepared me for my career in the field.” L.W. 2012

“Words cannot describe how much of an impact my experiences gave me while interning at the St. Clair County Courthouse Public Defenders.  The networking and hands-on experience I gained were the best parts of my internship there.  I loved it so much that I would do it all over again and suggest all Lindenwood University Criminal Justice majors take part in the program as well.” K.W. 2012
