All vehicles driven to campus by any student, staff, or faculty must be registered and have a LU parking permit displayed on the lower left hand corner of the back window. Parking permits can be purchased at the bookstore and are valid from July 1 through June 30 of each year.
Valid Parking Space
Valid parking spaces are designated by pavement markings. Pavement markings consist of two parallel stall lines. Parking across or on top of these lines will result in a parking violation.
No Parking Areas
Parking is not permitted in areas not identified as a valid parking space. No parking areas do not require signage, and are often unmarked. Do not create or add parking spaces regardless of how others are parked. There is no parking in the Roemer lot between the hours of 12:00 midnight to 7:00 a.m. Certain areas, at times, will be reserved for special guest and will be done so with cones, barrels, and/or caution tape. Moving, Removing, and parking in these areas will result in a fine.
Handicapped parking
Handicapped parking is designated by any of the following ways: blue curb, emblem on the pavement, and/or signage. A valid handicapped permit must be displayed.
Fire Lane
Yellow curbs designate fire lanes and are no parking areas.
Ten minute courtesy lanes
Ten minute courtesy lanes are designated by red curbs and/or posted signs.
Visitor parking
Visitor parking spaces are designated for individuals not of the university.
Drivers Responsibility
It is the driver’s responsibility to find and park in a valid parking spot. Vehicular problems and inclement weather does not warrant parking in no parking areas. Multiple violations will result in towing and loss of parking privileges.
