Wireless Router Policy

  • Due to the limited resources of the department, and the amount of misconfigured devices, we can no longer help any resident with their wireless problems.

  • Any resident that calls for network support will be asked to remove any wireless device and we will be happy to provide support from the wall jack to a computer.

  • Any resident that chooses to hook up a wireless device will do so completely on their own with no expectation of assistance from Computer Services.

  • Any wireless device that prevents a user from connecting to our network will not be assisted by our office, and we will only help with computers connected directly to the wall jack.

  • Any misconfigured wireless device will, as in the past, be blocked due to their devastating affect on the network.

  • Unfortunately, the residential network was never designed to accommodate the sophisticated wireless and routing devices that are so common today. As a result of this we do not provide any support for wireless or routing devices owned by residents.
