Counseling - CPCE
The purpose of the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) is to assess counseling students' knowledge of counseling information viewed as important by counselor preparation programs. Passing this test is a requirement for graduation for all Professional and School & Professional Counseling candidates. The CPCE will cover the eight common-core areas as defined by the CACREP Standards for Preparation: 1. Human Growth & Development 2. Social & Cultural Foundations 3. Group Dynamics 4. Lifestyle & Career Development 5. Appraisal of the Individual 6. Research Methods & Program Evaluation 7. Professional Orientation & Ethics 8.
