Dr. Peggy Ellis holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University, a Master of Science degree in nursing with a focus on nursing education from the University of Central Arkansas, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instructional Design from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. She completed post master’s programs in Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Dr. Ellis has been in nursing education for over 35 years and has taught a variety of courses at baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels. Her experience includes positions at Southeast Missouri State University, University of Arkansas, University of Alabama-Birmingham, University of Missouri – St. Louis, and, most recently at Saint Louis University where she served as Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Education prior to coming to Lindenwood. Her areas of research interest include program evaluation, and critical thinking and decision-making. Dr. Ellis is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the American Nurses Association, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She serves as a Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Program Accreditation Evaluator and has served as a member of the Report Review Committee and the Standards Committee for CCNE.
