Financial Aid - Apply for Aid - Parents

The Federal PLUS Loan Program (Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students) is part of the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Federal PLUS Loans for parents provide assistance in meeting undergraduate educational cost for dependent students.

Regardless of financial need, any parent of an undergraduate student can apply.

Highlights of the program:

• Low interest rate
• Flexible repayment terms(no prepayment penalties)
• Interest paid may qualify for a tax deduction
• Easy to apply

The lenders listed here have been selected based on past experience and qualifications. They offer excellent service and benefits to their borrowers. In addition, these lenders (and many others) work with our guarantor, TG (Texas Guaranteed) in the EFT (electronic fund transfer) process. You are free to choose ANY lender that participates in the FFEL program even if they are not on this list. If you select a non-TG lender, you may be required to submit a paper application.

If you have borrowed previously, we suggest you consider remaining with that lender or another lender that works with your same servicer. If you do select a different lender or servicer, be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of your decision.

The Financial Aid Office will strive to process your loan quickly and accurately regardless of the lender you choose.

Plus Loan Application & Master Promissory Note
Commerce Bank
Sallie Mae Education Trust
Southwest/M&I Bank
All other Lenders

This list was developed with the sole purpose of service to our students by providing loan programs with the student and parent's best interest in mind. The lenders on this list provide excellent borrower benefits that are both quantifiable and obtainable.

Lindenwood University considered several factors when constructing this list. We have highlighted some of the factors below:

* Loan Programs that offer superior borrower benefits.
* Timely and responsive processing with excellent problem-resolution service
* Commitment to debt management and default aversion
* The lender's mission statement
* Ease of application process
* Proactive customer communication
* Source and stability of capital used in providing loans

While Lindenwood University has identified these lenders as a convenience to you, LU strongly encourages all students/parents to research various loan programs and benefits associated with each. All LU students have the right and ability to select any lender of their choosing.

If you have any questions about receiving a parent loan, please contact the financial aid representatives at 636-949-4923.
