Jane Addams 1925
Illinois social reformer who developed a national and international reputation as the co-founder of Hull House (with her friend Ellen Starr). Later (1931) the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

Ellen Donnelly Reed (Nelly Don) multiple times in the 1920s
Designer of stylish housedresses who founded (1919) and ran the Donnelly Garment Company from 1931 to 1956, becoming a self made millionaire and the largest dress manufacturer in the world. Attended Lindenwood in the early 1900s

Charles Laughton 1920s
Popular British actor. Later (1933) won Academy Award for Best Actor for The Private Life of HenryVIII

Thornton Wilder 1920s
American writer and playwright. Later (1938) won Pulitzer Prize for Our Town. Also known for 1954 play The Matchmaker, which was made into film as Hello, Dolly!

Sen. Robert Taft 1948
U. S. senator from Ohio. Son of President William H. Taft he was a sponsor of the Taft-Hartley Act and candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 1940, 1948, and 1952

John "Jack" Danforth 1970
Missouri attorney general. Later U.S. senator from Missouri and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations

Robert Hyland 1971
General manager of KMOX radio in St. Louis and later the senior regional vice president of CBS radio. Member of Lindenwood College Board of Directors

Leonor K. Sullivan 1973
U.S. congresswoman from Missouri, first woman in Congress from Missouri

Dan Rather 1974
CBS television reporter. Later anchor of CBS Evening News

Leslie Stahl 1977
Television reporter and a moderator of Face the Nation. Later a regular on 60 Minutes

John Ashcroft 1983
Missouri attorney general. Later governor and U.S. senator from Missouri and U.S. attorney general.

Rep. Richard Gephardt 1985
U. S. congressman from Missouri and later candidate for Democratic presidential nomination (1988 and 2004)

Sen. Thomas Eagleton 1988
Former U.S. senator from Missouri and candidate for Vice President of the United States (1972)

Henry Kissinger 1988
Former U. S. Secretary of State and professor at Harvard University. Shared Nobel Peace Prize in 1973

Longtime radio host at KMOX radio in St. Louis

Jack Buck (1924-2002) 1990
Sportscaster best known as the voice of the St. Louis (baseball) Cardinals. Also did NFL, NBA, and NHL broadcasts. "That's a winner!"
