School of Humanities

Humanities faculty

Welcome to the Lindenwood University School of Humanities

Mike Whaley

Lindenwood University was founded in 1827 as a women's liberal arts college. As we have grown into a university and opened our doors to male students, our mission remains focused on developing "the whole person - an educated, responsible citizen of the global community."

The School of Humanities embodies Lindenwood's mission. Our English courses aid students in improving their use of the written word, while United States history and political science programs help students understand the American system. International relations, geography, and foreign languages show students their place in a global community, while philosophy and religion programs expand student knowledge of ideas from ancient times to the present.

Through these valuable courses of study, we seek to offer our students a global view of the larger community and to prepare them to take their place in an increasingly connected world.
