Collection Development Policy
While the Ambler Archives will always be interested in new and unique items related to Lindenwood's history, in an effort to increase the usefulness of our facilities to the faculty, the archives intends to collect historical material related to:
- The area within a 75 mile radius of St. Charles County, and St. Louis City and County including material from Illinois
- Missouri
- The Early American Frontier
- Women's Colleges
Priority will be given to material relating to Lindenwood and George and Mary Sibley. The Archives will accept material outside of the scope our collection development policy if it is deemed useful for educational and research purposes.
Donor Policy
If material is offered to Lindenwood, donors must sign a release form that will give Lindenwood free use and ownership of the material being given. Upon completion of the release form, if a donor is interested, a statement of value will be given to the individual for tax purposes.
Purchasing Policy
Material that is being offered to Lindenwood at a cost will be reviewed by a predetermined group of staff and faculty. Purchases will be based on the relevance to Lindenwood University history, or usefulness as research material.
