New Degree Programs added at Lindenwood-Belleville Campus

Lindenwood University’s Belleville campus is having another growth spurt by adding three new degrees and eight new areas of specializations to its daytime undergraduate offerings beginning in the fall of 2010. The school has also added 16 employees to its staff to handle the influx of students expected to participate in the new classes.
“These are programs that will help meet the needs of the community and its residents, “ said Lindenwood Vice President Jerry Bladdick, Chief Administrative Officer of the Belleville campus. “These are programs that people in this area want. And they are programs that will develop the workers that area employers need.”
The new degrees are Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration, Human Resource Management and Criminal Justice. Bladdick said in-demand areas of emphasis have been added to the already established Corporate Communications programs including Public Relations, Media, Advertising and Sports Management.
Lindenwood’s Belleville campus opened in 2003, offering only Criminal Justice and Education courses. Since then, course offerings and attendance have skyrocketed to over 1,500 full and part-time students. The University is expecting over 200 new students for the spring terms. Daytime classes were added last year and the Belleville campus has created its own sports teams including men’s and women’s soccer, basketball and volleyball programs, along with a cheerleading squad.
