Lindenwood University-Belleville Campus Anniversary Celebration & Open House
We invite all alumni to join us on Wednesday, October 21, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. as well as the greater Belleville community, in celebrating the 6th anniversary of the opening of the Lindenwood-Belleville campus.

Lindenwood Athletics Weekly Newsletter Now Available
One of the features of the new athletics website at
www.lindenwoodlions.com is that Lindenwood sports fans can subscribe to a weekly newsletter during the school year.
The newsletter will highlight the top athletic events that are coming up for the next week, and have a link to the “This Week In Lindenwood Athletics” story which briefly gives an update on every Lindenwood sports team that is currently in-season. The newsletter will also link to some of the top web stories over the past seven days.

Lindenwood University partners with Local Foundry Art Centre

The Foundry Art Centre invites the Lindenwood University alumni and community to experience the creativity, originality and diversity of the Foundry’s visual art exhibitions presented in the Smithsonian caliber Main Galleries. The Ameristar Emerging Artist Gallery showcases the work of promising new artists, and the Baue Family Children’s Gallery allows young people to discover new art forms. The Foundry’s twenty resident artists with working studios located inside the center, welcome visitors and offer a unique and personal view into the creative process. Upcoming events at the Foundry include The National Quilt Exhibition and the Foundry’s Fifth Anniversary Ville de Lumieres Gala on October 23, 2009. Lindenwood to Host Two Media Literacy Week Events
Lindenwood will observe Media Literacy week by hosting two forums during the week of October 4-10 in the Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room at the Spellmann Campus Center. “Creating Media Literacy Standards for the Upcoming Fifth Missouri Standards (MSIP) Cycle” will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, and “Creating Media Smart Students: Media Literacy for 21st Century Learning,” will take place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 8. Teachers may earn one-graduate level credit by attending both presentations at Lindenwood.

Alumnus Michael Roberts to Speak at Event on October 21
An entrepreneur is defined as a visionary and a risk taker. That definition certainly is an excellent description of Michael Roberts. Since graduating from Lindenwood in 1971, Michael has been a successful entrepreneur, public official, author, and real estate developer. Michael and his brother Stephen co-founded Roberts-Roberts & Associates, a consulting and construction management firm. They also operate a highly successful broadcasting and wireless business.
On October 21, Michael Roberts will share his secrets of success as he presents "Building a Legacy and the Future for Emerging Entrepreneurs" starting at 2:00 p.m. in the Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room in the Spellmann Center. This lecture, the inaugural event in the Entrepreneurial Speaker Series hosted by the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, is free of charge and the public is invited. Center for International and Global Studies Speaker Series
Brian Frederking, an Associate Professor of Political Science at McKendree University, will be speaking about “Global Tribunals and International Criminal Law” on Wednesday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m. in the Spellmann Center Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room. His research interests include collective security and the United Nations Security Council. His publications include articles in American Political Science Review and International Studies Quarterly. His research emphasizes global attempts to deal with terrorism, weapons proliferation, and human rights abuses.
