Now that Lindenwood's 23-1 season is in the books, the awards are rolling in. Three LU starters--Inge Heiremans, Nadia Gaeggeler and Ursina Capeder--have been named first team NAIA all-Americans.
In addition, Daniela Binswanger was a third team all-American, and Fabienne Comte and Heather Scott were honorable mention.
All six were named to the all-Region V first team, and Heiremans was Region V Player of the Year.
But the honors don't stop there. Gaeggeler and Margaret Walter were named Academic all-Americans. To earn that honor, student-athletes must have junior standing and at least a 3.5 grade point average.
"I'm very proud of our team," said Coach Kevin Kilcullin. "They accomplished a lot on the field, and in the classroom."
The LU women's soccer team will be recognized for its accomplishments in the 2000 season during a reception at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 5 in in the Hyland Performance Arena.
