Diver shatters NAIA record; LU women finish 8th
March 6, 2000 Lindenwood University sophomore diver Jessica Metcalf won the national title last week in two events at the NAIA national tournament at Simon Fraser, British Columbia--the 1m and the 3m. But it was her 3-meter score that has turned heads across both countries. Metcalf set a national record in the 3-meter competition with a score of 555.45. She also won the 1-meter dive competition with 441.40. LU freshman Kelli Wind finished 3rd in the 1-meter event. In the 100-meter breaststroke, LU junior Sarah Herholz was third with a time of 1:18.73. Metcalf, Wind and Herholz all were named all-Americans by the NAIA, leading the Lady Lions to an 8th place finish overall. ### Press Release Contact:Public Relations |
