Students present designer fashion show
April 21, 2000
Students in the fashion design and retail merchandising programs at Lindenwood University are presenting the third annual student designer fashion show, "Fashion for Every Millennium" May 5 at the Lindenwood Cultural Center.
The show, which will be presented at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., will showcase a number of senior collections, including two bridal wear and tuxedo, a large evening wear segment, swim wear, lingerie, casual wear, and career wear. The fantasy-art wear collection will show Tudor and Elizabethan influences.
The children's wear collection was designed in connection with Something Special Children's Wear in Mid Rivers Mall.
"The store owners contacted us because they needed clothing designed for 10, 11 and 12-year-olds," said Teri Jones, associate professor of fashion design. "This was an excellent opportunity for our students to design fashions for a specific client."
The annual Lindenwood University Student Designer Fashion Show is a cooperative effort between the fashion design students who create the collections and the retail merchandising students who produce and promote the fashion show.
Tickets for the fashion show are: $5 for general admission seating at the Friday matinee; $10 for general admission seating at the evening show, and $25 for designer seating (first four rows, left and right center) at the evening show. Call (636) 949-4866 for tickets. Proceeds from the event will help fund student scholarships and the Fashion Design program.
