Lady Lions' soccer star honored

March 13, 2001

Lindenwood University's Nadia Gaeggeler was honored for her work in the classroom and on the soccer field as the national MS College Athlete of the Year.

Gaeggeler, 22, of Switzerland, has made 37 international appearances and was a first team Adidas All-American last fall, after leading the Lady Lions to a 23-1 national runner-up finish in the NAIA. She had 13 goals and broke the national record with 27 assists.

Also honored during the February banquet were Pierre Turgeon and Scott Young of the Blues, Mike Matheny of the Cardinals and Marshall Faulk of the Rams.
