The Missouri Department of Transportation has awarded a $2.2 million contract for the realignment of First Capitol Drive along the front of the Lindenwood University campus.
Construction is expected to begin in March. The project, awarded to JRW Construction of St. Louis, is slated for completion in December.
When complete, the new roadway will remove a dangerous curve, provide commercial potential to a blighted area and pave the way for completion of Lindenwood's $54 million campus improvement plan.
The realignment is a three-way project that includes Lindenwood, MoDOT and the City of St. Charles.
