"Many Feet Brings Houses" brings applause for dancers
May 17, 2002
The Lindenwood University Dancers had the privilege May 13 to perform "Many Feet Bring Houses" at the American College Dance Festival National Gala at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
The dance, choreographed by Dance Program Director Rob Scoggins, was one of 37 dances selected from among 417 works presented at Regional Festivals by some of the best university dance programs in the country. Lindenwood is especially honored because this was its first time to present a dance for adjudication at the Festival.
"Many Feet...", described by adjudicators, faculty, and student audience members as "hilarious, intelligent, and unique," and as "...bringing out the individual talents of the student performers," was the only one to receive a standing ovation at the Monday night performance.
Student dancers included Yilca Arosmena, Ashley Fannon, Monica Guzman, Michelle Hoffmann, Christina McArthur, Leslie Pearce, Laura Pierce, Anne Roby, Dan Taylor, Emily Turay, Katie Van Dillen, and Shih-weh Wang. Scott Bradley composed and performed the music, and Dr. Alice Bloch, Associate Professor of Dance at Lindenwood, designed the lights.
