Verizon grant for classroom technology
September 16, 2002
Lindenwood University’s Wentzville campus has been approved for a Classroom Technology Improvement Grant from the Verizon Foundation.
Don Neely, formerly with Verizon and current manager of public relations for Century Tel, presented Lindenwood President Dennis Spellmann with a $25,000 check that will be used to create improvements in classrooms located at the University’s Wentzville location.
“The Verizon grant will help Lindenwood improve its classroom technology capabilities through varied presentation systems," said Neely. "Lindenwood has worked with area businesses and corporations for many years in assessing employees’ technology aptitudes and to develop educational and training programs which address business needs. Verizon’s gift will enhance classroom educational opportunities and impact the entire western St. Charles County community."
President Spellmann said “Verizon has been a community partner with Lindenwood for many years and we appreciate its gift to our Wentzville campus. The benefit to our students will be far-reaching.
"While Verizon will continue to be a strong presence in our community, we also look forward to forming new relationships with CenturyTel.”
