University to Host Summer Film, TV Camp
March 30, 2009
The Lindenwood University Communications Department will host a film and television camp this summer for high school students interested in learning production skills. Freshmen and sophomores are invited to attend camp daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 15-19. A camp session for juniors and seniors is scheduled from June 22-26.
Participants will learn introductory skills and techniques from award-winning Lindenwood faculty. The instructors have years of experience creating Hollywood movies, network television shows, local newscasts, and documentaries.
“We’ve been planning this camp for a couple of years now and we’re really excited to be kicking it off,” said Peter Carlos, LUTV station manager and assistant professor of communications. “Students who have an interest in the field will get a chance to use our new state-of-the-art facilities and high-definition cameras to produce professional films and television programming.”
The cost to attend is $125. Participants will receive a bagged lunch each day, a t-shirt, a personalized DVD of their final projects, and a free screening of their work for family members and friends.
Space is limited. To register, please contact Carlos at (636) 949-4513 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
