Climatologist will Present Program March 24 on Global Warming

March 15, 2010

Delaware-based climatologist David Legates, Ph.D., will present “Global Warming: Fact or Fiction” at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, at Lindenwood University. The presentation, which is part of the university’s Economic Policy Series, will be on the main Lindenwood campus in the Spellmann Center’s Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room.

Legates is an associate professor and director of the Center for Climate Research at the University of Delaware, associate Delaware state climatologist, and associate director of the Delaware Space Grant Commission. He has published more than 100 articles in journals such as the International Journal of Climatology, Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, Theoretical and Applied Climatology and many more.

Legates has published research papers and editorials and has spoken openly in opposition to the consensus scientific opinion on climate change. More recently, he has been known for his skepticism toward the anthropogenic cause of the observed global warming patterns and the severity of its consequences at the local geographical scale.

The Economic Policy Series is presented by the Institute for the Study of Economics and the Environment, which is a part of the Lindenwood University School of Business and Entrepreneurship. For more information about the institute or Legates’ presentation, contact Dr. Anthony Clark at (636) 949-4742.
