Dr. Todd Mick, former chief academic officer and professor of business, recently joined Lindenwood University-Belleville as Chair of the Business and Entrepreneurship Department.
In addition to his position at LU-Belleville, Mick has also previously served as director of entrepreneurship at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Mo., as well as director of the Small Business Institute and associate professor of entrepreneurship at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo. He has instructed both undergraduate and graduate business students and has published research in numerous scholarly publications.
Mick said he is excited to be a part of the Lindenwood faculty as they build a university in Belleville and believes his experiences in leading both students and instructors of business will be an asset to the development of a premier business program.
Dr. Paige Mettler-Cherry, dean of academics at LU-Belleville, believes Mick’s enthusiasm and impressive leadership qualities make him the perfect choice for the position.
“Dr. Mick’s wealth of experience will help guide our students to the successful completion of their academic careers and put them on the right path as future business leaders,” said Mettler-Cherry. “In addition, he will expand opportunities for Lindenwood to partner with the Belleville business community, benefitting not only the university, but also the city of Belleville and southern Illinois.”
Mick earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics and a master’s degree in post-secondary student development and counselor education from the University of Iowa. He also holds a master’s degree in public affairs and administration and a doctorate in entrepreneurship from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
