Dr. Keith Russell, Interim Dean of Academics for LU-Belleville, presented a paper at the Crossroads in Cultural Studies Conference on July 5 in Paris, France. The title of Dr. Russell’s work is “Space as Postcolonial Frontier in Salman Rushdie’s ‘Chekov and Zulu’ and Jhumpa Lahiri’s ‘The Third and Final Continent.’” The conference was hosted by UNESCO and Sorbonne Nouvelle University.
Dr. Russell was selected from a group of over 3,000 applicants to be one of the more than 1,300 presenters at the conference. His panel focused on rewriting race and ethnicity in world literature; other panels covered a vast array of topics from social media to robotic cockroaches.
