LU–Belleville Announces Auditions for Spring Production of Little Shop of Horrors
December 20, 2012
The Lindenwood University–Belleville Theatre Department will hold auditions for its spring musical, Little Shop of Horrors, on Wednesday, January 9, from 7 -9 p.m. at the Lindenwood Auditorium, 2600 W. Main Street in Belleville, Ill. Auditions will be open to students and non-students. The performances will be on April 26, 27, and 28.
Those interested in auditioning are asked to prepare a one-minute comedic monologue and approximately one minute of music from an appropriate Broadway-style show. This is a non-paying opportunity.
The Theatre Department is presenting Little Shop of Horrors in conjunction with the university’s Musical Theatre Production class (TA290). Students enrolled in the class will be auditioning and may be given consideration over non-students. Little Shop of Horrors will be the first musical theatre production in the history of LU—Belleville’s young Theatre Department. Lindenwood is an academic institution focused on the student, and rehearsals are an excellent learning environment.
