December 3, 2013
Lindenwood University-Belleville has been recognized as the United Way’s Top New Campaign in the 2013 Illinois Division.
With more than 100 employees, the campus pledged $2,193 in its first local United Way campaign.
The director of the United Way’s Illinois Division, Charlie Merker, thanked Lindenwood Belleville for its support in helping with the 2013 campaign.
“These new dollars help the United Way agencies support their existing programs and add new ones to help people in our local community,” said Merker.
Lindenwood Belleville’s alumni and special events coordinator, Julie Sydow, accepted the recognition award on behalf of the university.
“I was honored to accept the award from the United Way on behalf of Lindenwood,” said Sydow. “Lindenwood University-Belleville’s faculty, staff, students, campus organizations, and athletic programs always strive to reach out and help the community through service or financial support wherever and whenever we can. The partnership that we have developed with the United Way is a great resource that can further assist the residents of Belleville and Southwestern Illinois.”
In addition to the campus’ campaign, Mary Reuter, assistant vice president and executive director of community relations for Lindenwood University-Belleville, also serves on the United Way Illinois Division’s Board of Directors.
