Dr. Deb Ayres Named VP for Human Resources
June 25, 2013
Lindenwood University has appointed Dr. Deb Ayres to the position of vice president for human resources. Ayres will replace Dr. Rick Boyle, who is retiring from the post at the end of August.
Boyle was the first to hold the post, which was created in 2007. Ayres has been chair of the Educational Leadership Department in the School of Education since 2008.
She has also worked as a human resources management consultant since 2000 and was assistant superintendent for human resources for the Kirkwood School District from 1990 to 2008. Prior to that, she held a number of teaching and administrative posts in the Ritenour, Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt, and Orchard Farm School Districts, going back to 1976.
“Dr. Ayres’ wealth of experience as a human resources professional in educational settings, as well as her dedication to Lindenwood’s students, made her an excellent fit for the position,” said Dr. James D. Evans, president of Lindenwood University. “I am happy to welcome her to Lindenwood’s executive team, and I am grateful for her service to the University.”
Ayres, who will work with Boyle up to his retirement date, spoke in highly glowing terms of Boyle’s leadership in the post.
“It is an honor to be selected to fill the void that Vice President Boyle leaves behind as he transitions to the next phase of his journey,” Ayres said.
She acknowledged the importance of the position and its impact on the mission of the university.
“Facilitating the selection of highly qualified faculty, staff, and administration to serve the students, while supporting the professional and personal success and wellness of all employees, is the mission to which I am dedicated,” Ayres said. “I look forward to serving and establishing professional relationships with the university’s most valuable resource, its people.”
