Hammond Institute to Co-Host Forum on Tax Credit Scholarships

April 15, 2014

Lindenwood University’s Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise and the Show-Me Institute will co-host a forum on tax credit scholarships from 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, in Lindenwood’s Dunseth Auditorium. The presentations will focus on the issue of private-school choice, financed through tax-credit scholarship programs, as a method for dealing with K-12 school funding issues, particularly in struggling unaccredited districts.

The auditorium is located in Harmon Hall on the university’s St. Charles campus, located at 209 S. Kingshighway in St. Charles, Mo.

The forum, titled “Expanded Opportunities: A Discussion of Tax Credit Scholarships,” will include several speakers from academia and public policy circles, including Howard Wall, from Lindenwood University; Jason Bedrick, from the Cato Institute; Jonathan Butcher, from the Goldwater Institute; Paul DiPerna, from the Friedman Foundation; Missouri Senator John Lamping, Republican-District 24; Missouri Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal, Democrat-District 14; Missouri Representative Tim Jones, Republican-District 110; Missouri Representative Michael Butler, Democrat-District 79; and James V. Shuls, of the Show-Me Institute.
