Steve Dasovich is an assistant professor and chair of the Anthropology and Sociology Department and director of the archaeological research program at Lindenwood University. Here, he is directing the beginnings of the new Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology/archaeology. Prior to this, he directed a cultural resource management division for a regional engineering firm, directing cultural resource projects in thirteen states. He has served multiple elected positions on the board of directors of the Missouri Association of Professional Archaeologists, is a past president of the same, and recently completed a six-year stint on the board of directors of the American Cultural Resources Association. Currently, he is serving as a commissioner on the St. Louis County (Missouri) Historic Buildings Commission, and is a series co-editor of the Society for Historical Archaeology's CRM Publication Program.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Missouri’s Civil War Heritage Foundation and the American Institute for Battlefield Archaeology.

Dr. Dasovich earned his BA in Anthropology at the University of South Dakota, his MS in Anthropology at The Florida State University, and his PhD in Anthropology from the University of Missouri. 

He has extensive experience in underwater archaeology, having conducted projects in multiple aquatic environments in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Missouri. Other current areas of interest include the hunter-gatherers of the Northern Plains, and late-Colonial/Early American periods in Missouri. In 2011, his survey in St. Charles, Missouri, resulted in the first direct evidence of the city’s French-Canadian founder, Louis Blanchette, circa 1769. He has co-directed each of the battlefield surveys organized by Missouri’s Civil War Heritage Foundation and the American Institute for Battlefield Archaeology, beginning with the Battle of Centralia survey in 2006 and including the First Battle of Boonville, the Battle of Island Mound, the first day’s battle of Fort Davidson, and the Battle of Marshall, all in Missouri.  In connection with these projects, he has appeared in numerous national media outlets including the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, National Public Radio, and the National Geographic website, and in many local, regional, and national print, radio, and television pieces. He also directs archaeological work at Lindenwood’s Boone Home Campus.

Christina Dames is a cultural anthropologist who received a doctor of philosophy in anthropology from University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012. Her current research interests include human cooperation, trust, rotating savings and credit associations (ROSCAS), credit, debt, and bankruptcy.

She conducted 17 months of field research in West Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo, in which she investigated the use of ROSCAS (locally known as arisan), indigenous credit unions, shari'a banks, and microfinance services offered by major banks such as the Bank Rakyat Indonesia. She was awarded a Fulbright Award and a Boren Fellowship to conduct this research and was the recipient of three foreign language area studies awards during intensive study of the Bahasa Indonesia.
