Any undergraduate or graduate Lindenwood student can submit an application to participate in the Student Research Symposium and Exposition. Group submissions are also welcome. Submitting an application does not guarantee a project will be selected for inclusion in the Symposium. All submissions are due by March 17, 2014.
Important Submission Notes:
We recommend using Google Chrome. (The computers in Spellmann, Butler Library, and many other computers on campus have this web browser installed.) We recommend against using Internet Explorer as we have received reports of submission errors when using that browser.
Avoid using special symbols (i.e. the % symbol), mathematical notation, or Greek letters as these could result in a submission error.
Indicate course and work conflicts at the end of your abstract. While you cannot request a particular session, you should review the 2014 Schedule to see where conflicts may arise. (You are only required to attend the session in which you are presenting/being judged. The Poster Judging Session is 5:00-6:00)
The submission form will ask you to submit a 250-word abstract describing the project.
- For scholarly projects, the abstract should define the scope of your research, your research methods, and the main claims resulting from this work.
- For creative or non-scholarly projects, the abstract should describe the nature of your project and define the main accomplishments achieved as a result of its completion.
Abstracts are expected to employ correct spelling and grammar usage. Abstracts with serious errors may not be considered. See the Information for Participants page for advice on writing an effective abstract.
